Why subscribe?

Admit it, despite a few annoying things—like slow left-lane drivers on I-70 or mosquitoes that target your face in the summer—you think Missouri is a pretty kick-ass place. Sign up for the free The Pure Missouri Post to get all the fun things delivered directly to your in-box on a somewhat monthly basis—without as much of the annoying stuff. Missouri history, weird or interesting news, things to brag about, images, art, and more!

Never miss an issue

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new issue of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox, and I won’t overwhelm you with emails beyond the monthly issues that I publish.

Your information remains private

When you subscribe for free, I (Pure Missouri) receive your email address — and nothing more. Not your name, not your address — nothing. And I will never sell or trade or otherwise share that email address with anyone.

If you provide any additional information or opinions through our “Welcome” email (where I ask to get to know you), that data also will remain private and will not be sold or shared.

(See privacy, terms and information-collection notice at the bottom of this page for more details from platform-provider Substack.)

Yes, there are some of us who will admit to living in KC and loving a long weekend in St. Louis—or vice versa. We enjoy jazz at 18th & Vine as much as we appreciate bluegrass in Conway or Curryville. We’re proud when any Show Me State school, no matter how big or small, wins a national championship (we’re looking at you, Missouri Valley, Northwest Missouri, SEMO, UCM and other champions). We may live in the city or the country, but we relish day trips to all parts of the state.

When it comes down to it, if you live, work or play in the Show Me State, you can be “Pure Missouri,” too. So come join us at The Pure Missouri Post, send us your Missouri tips and ideas, and become a part of our discussions.
